Credit Card Debts
Credit card debts are an annoyance because of high interest rates and finance charges. These are what make it seemingly impossible to make any progress with your credit card debts.
Credit Card Debts
Credit card debts are like that gnat flying around that you can never seem to kill. No matter how hard you try, it always seems to elude you. But it doesn't have to. Not anymore.
First Things First
Stop rackin' it up! When you make the decision to get rid of your credit card debts, the first thing you have to do is stop using your credit cards. Try cutting back and living within your means. It's a tough transition to make, especially if your credit card minimums are so high that you're being forced to use your credit cards to buy gas and groceries. If you're at the point where this simply isn't possible, you might need to find a debt management program to help you get rid of your credit card debts.
Don't Be Afraid
Fear has been known to paralyze people. And while It's natural to be afraid of the unknown, a debt management program is nothing to be afraid of. Under most debt management programs, you will be rid of your credit card debts in five years and save thousands of dollars in interest in the process. There's really nothing to lose except your credit card debt.
Still, if you want to attempt to get rid of your credit card debts on your own and you have good credit, you could transfer your credit card balances to a card with 0% interest. Generally, that 0% is an introductory rate, so the longer the introductory period, the better. You also want to make sure there's no balance transfer fee and no annual fee if you want this to be an effective way to pay off your credit card debt. If you can pay it off during the introductory period, great. If not, it might want to go through the whole process again with a different 0% card.
In any case, it's in your best interest to try to get your credit card debt paid. You'll benefit, and so will your credit report!
