Do you feel like your debts are working overtime to eat at every last penny you earn? Then do something about it!
Debt Relief to the Rescue!
Why haven't you done something about your debts? Perhaps it's because you didn't know there was anything you could do except slave away trying to get them paid off. But the truth is, there are plenty of debt management programs out there to help people just like you reduce debts. And they work! In fact, they work so well that you can be out of debt in five years. You might think that's a lot, but consider this: The average American household carries $9,312 in credit card debt. Assuming the minimum balance is the only amount paid on it (which is 4% of the total balance) and an average interest rate of 14% (which is low) it will take 13 years to pay it off. And by the time it's paid off, you will have paid $3,778.81 in interest alone. This means that you owed $9,312, but you paid back $13,090.81. Bet that five years sounds pretty good right about now, doesn't it?
Of course, there are other ways to consolidate debts, too. Especially credit card debts. If your credit is good, you could transfer your credit card debts to a credit card that has a 0% introductory rate and try to pay it off during the introductory period. That would really save you money. Of course, that would mean that if you owed $9,300, and your introductory period was a year, your monthly payments would be $775. That's a huge payment. You could also keep transferring the balance to 0% cards until it's paid in full, but you'd really have to pay attention to when your introductory rate expires. Then you'd have to be sure the card you transfer to doesn't have annual fees or balance transfer fees.
In any case, doing something about your debts is better than doing nothing at all!
